| Six New UK Stockists We have some more stockists all starting in October 2010!! There will be 'Making the Best' in Leighton Buzzard, a new concept shop all about MAKING - from painting furniture to making wine, beer, keeping bees and making honey and keeping chickens etc! In Berkshire we are going to have 'Country Mouse' run by the wonderfully enthusiastic Karen in Warfield and in Falmouth, Cornwall we will have two 'crazy', (in a good way) sisters Mary and Tricia running 'Sweet Pea and Betty'. In October or maybe November we also have Abundant a very superior flower shop in Ludlow, Shropshire taking our paint and I am very excited about this one. I think it is a great combination. In Dartmouth we also have a new shop I think to be called 'Commerce' opening. I'll keep you posted on this one. Avant Garde in Baslow Derbyshire attended painting class this week and took their stockists deal away straightaway so they are all set up. |
| Stockists north of Nottingham Wanted! Now we just need some places in the north of England. perhaps Yorkshire, because the most north we have at the moment is Nottinghamshire. Yorkshire surely! After that, what about Wales! And how about Bristol? |
| USA stockists We have three wonderful stockists of our paint! The paint will be with them mid July. This is The Plain end of the Cowley Road, near the Ballroom, (vintage) Saree ( clothes etc), Greek deli, the Morrocan Deli, Door 74, the Kasbah and Coco to name just a few excellent shops and restaurants We opened on June1st Reasons for moving; the lease ends here in London Road, the new place is bigger and mainly on one level, it's nearer home, the areas is more bohemian and it's right next door to some great cafes and restaurants ..........need I say more, but we will be sad to leave our friends in Headington, but its only 6 minutes away by car or a half hour walk so we hope we see all our old customers soon. |  |
| Shops in Spain wanted! Jane in Spain has been a stockist for the longest time and as such deserves a medal if we were thetyoe of company that did that sort of thing! She has a really lovely shop in La Herradura, an old fishing village that has somewhat grown on the southern coast of Spain in Andalucia directly south of Granada. Jane has been supplying both Spanish and English, Dutch etc with people coming from miles around. She now has found Fiona who is looking for stockists so Jane can supply other shops. Can you help? We now have another stockist in London, The Forest Bailiff, in Wimbledon which is southwest London. This works well geographically with our other stockist Sally Bourne in Muswell Hill which is north London.
Lucy Woodruffe at The Forest Bailiff also sells stoves, hence the name of the shop. She'll be getting her stock ffrom us in the next few weeks.
We have a wonderful new shop called Twenty Six in Nenagh, Co Tipperary who will be selling our paint and has lots of plans to distribute the paint. Nenagh is situated almost bang inthe middle of Ireland so is perfect. The first course will be held on Friday July 23rd and the second the following day saturday July 24th.
| Latvia! A few months ago a lovely woman called Irina came all the way from Latvia to do my workshop on painting furniture. She was very enthusiastic about the possibility of seling my paint in Latvia and yesterday I had an email from her, after getting our prices, that YES she wanted to sell our paint in Latvia! This is so exciting to be in such a country! |

January 28th 2010 filming for Kirsty's Homemade Home for Channel 4. we strated at 8.30 and went on to 8 at night! What a long and arduous day. Phew. These guys really work hard.
It will be aired in the autumn some time but Channel 4 haven't given exact times yet.
KIrsty was a hoot! She was twittering on her Blackberry all the time between painting and working with me. Crazy lady but lovely. She looks wonderful!

| Is there an interior design gene we wonder? We have just found out that Annie Sloan is related to an old and very influential interior design company in New York. Nick Sloan, Annie's brother, submitted a cheek swab for analysis, and it seems that the connection goes back probably 5 generations to either Ireland and Scotland so it is rather distant but we are like the idea of an interior design gene! Here is a piece from the Wikipedia article on the company. The advertisement is from a 1902 magazine called the Scribners Magazine. 'W. & J. Sloane set the national decorating taste of the United States, and decorated the homes of the most prominent people in the country, including the White House, created Hollywood movie sets, and even designed and decorated interiors of automobiles. I can hardly wait for the next two stockists - one in berkshire and the other in Bedfordshire. Both are new shops and are headed up by really great women.
Actually all the shops that sell the paint are run by terrific women, with the exception of Steve at Painted Country in Eye who is a wonderful man! Oh and Smoke on the Water in Kent run by great husband and wife team, Richard and Catherine.
